UPDATE ON THE DELAY OF THE LAUNCH OF NEW DESTINATIONS OPERATED BY DAN AIR FROM BACĂU “GEORGE ENESCU” INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

“George Enescu” Bacău International Airport brings to the public the official press release issued by the airline Dan Air, regarding the operation of the new destinations included in the flight schedule for the summer period. We present below the full content of the press release:

“⚠️ Important operational changes

✈️DAN AIR postpones the launch of some European routes amid the accelerated increase in kerosene prices, generated by the conflict in the Middle East

Dear passengers ,

We are transparently informing you about an important change regarding the launch of new routes in the DAN AIR network.

In the context of the conflict in the Middle East and the direct impact on the global fuel market, the price of kerosene has increased by over 50% in recent weeks. In these circumstances, we are forced to take responsible measures to protect the sustainability of our operations.

Thus, the launch of flights to Barcelona (BCN), Madrid (MAD), Paris Beauvais (BVA), Valencia (VLC) and Treviso (TSF), originally scheduled for April 1, 2026, will be postponed. These are the only routes affected, and the new launch date is June 14, 2026.

We know that many of you are looking forward to these new connections and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, which may have disrupted your travel plans.

Currently, fuel costs represent approximately 40% of total operating expenses, and in the current context, this share can reach up to 60%. Without such measures, these increases would inevitably be reflected in ticket prices, which would become significantly higher and less affordable for many passengers.

Our decision has a clear purpose: to avoid passing these additional costs directly to you while maintaining the stability and efficiency of our operations in the long term.

It is important to note that this situation affects the entire aviation industry, and several European airlines have made similar decisions to us and have already adjusted their flight schedules for the same reasons.

Passengers who already have reservations on the affected routes will be contacted directly by our team or through travel agencies and will be offered assistance options.

During this period, we will continue to operate and consolidate existing routes, maintaining the standards you have come to expect, while closely monitoring the evolution of the situation.

We remain committed to our development plans and estimate the launch of these routes starting June 14, 2026, depending on the evolution of conditions.

We apologize once again for the inconvenience caused. Thank you for your trust and understanding. “
