Refused boarding
You have the right to claim compensation ranging from 125 EUR to 600 EUR, depending on the flight distance and the delay caused by the rerouting of the flight.
Extended delays
If the delay exceeds five hours, you have the right to request a refund of the ticket cost, but only if you waive your travel.
Flight cancellation
In the case of flight cancellation, you have the right to receive monetary compensation, except in the following situations: you were informed of the cancellation at least 14 days prior to the flight date, the rescheduled flight time is very close to the original schedule, or the airline can prove that the cancellation was due to extraordinary circumstances.
Assistance provided by airlines Depending on the circumstances
If your boarding is refused or if the flight you are traveling on is canceled or delayed, you are entitled to assistance (provision of meals, communication means, overnight accommodation if necessary). Identity of airlines You must know in advance the identity of the operating carrier for the flight you are traveling on. Airlines that do not provide safe flight conditions are banned or subject to restrictions within the European Union. Liability
Airlines are liable for damages caused by flight delays (up to ± 4,800 EUR), damage to and loss of baggage (up to ± 1,200 EUR), as well as for bodily injuries or death resulting from accidents. However, they are not liable if they have taken all possible measures to avoid the damages or if they were unable to take such measures. Tour packages Tour operators have an obligation to provide accurate information regarding reserved holiday tickets, fulfill contractual obligations, and ensure passenger protection in the event of the organizer’s insolvency.
